  • Perform competitor analysis.
  • Assess the structure of the organization and the influence this has on its performance.
  • Determine the organization’s competitive position and the possibilities this provides.

Alternative Capstone Project with Live Client

Write a 1,400-word minimum internal environmental analysis of the client in which you include the following: 

  • Explain your design, manufacturing, distribution and sales chain for a product, or your planned customer experience for a service-oriented business.
  • Create detailed pricing and sales strategies.
  • Determine how to create value and sustain competitive advantage using the environmental scanning strategy.
  • Assess the organization’s internal environment.
  • Identify the most important strengths and weaknesses of your organization including an assessment of the organization’s resources.
  • Perform competitor analysis.
  • Assess the structure of the organization and the influence this has on its performance.
  • Determine the organization’s competitive position and the possibilities this provides to the client. 

Input your environmental scan analysis from Week 2 into LivePlan®.

  1. Click on the “Plan” tab at the top of the screen.
  2. Locate the “Target Market” section on the left side of the screen.
  3. Click on the “Market Overview” link.
  4. Click on “Get started writing on this item” on the right side of the screen.
  5. Input your Market Overview from week 1.
  6. Click the “Add More” link on the left side of the screen.
  7. Click the “Add Custom Section” link at the bottom of the screen.
  8. Create a new Section called “Industry Overview.”
  9. Drag the “Industry Overview” header to the first position above “Market Overview.”
  10. Input your Industry (national and local), local market and customer research into the Industry Overview.
  11. Locate the “Products and Services” section.
  12. Click the “Products and Services” and “Competitors” sections.
  13. Input the products and services and competitor’s information from your industry overview in these sections.
  14. Locate the “Milestones” link under Strategy and Implementation on the left side of your screen.
  15. Add your Market and Industry Overview to your Milestones.
